To build the Reliable Shot Clock Stand, you’ll need several reliable components, as well as some tools.

DSS reccomends you get your components at either Lowe's or Home Depot, but these parts should be available on Amazon or at any hardware store.


Materials for the Bucket Base

Below is a breakdown with convenient links to popular retailers for the components needed for the bucket base:

🔩 ¾" Coupling Fitting

A short threaded connector used to link the two pipes together.

🧱 2x 36" ¾" Steel Pipes (Threaded at Both Ends)

Steel pipe to ensure the stability of the stand.

Two of these pipes are required per stand.

Threaded at both ends is required for connection to base, adapter, and coupler.


🛠 3/4" NPT Pipe Flange

A flange used to mount the pipes to your 4x4 Wood Post.

🧱 16” 4x4 Wood Post

A 4x4 wood post to provide a mounting point for the pipes.

🧱 40lbs of Concrete

A concrete mix (we suggest Quikrete) to add weight to the bucket base.

We Highly recommended getting this item from either Lowe's, Home Depot, or another local hardware store as it is far more cost effective.

tip

Buying the concrete in an 80lbs. bag allows one bag to be easily split between two bucket bases. This is perfect if you are building a pair of reliable stands.

Materials for the Tripod

Below is a breakdown with convenient links to popular retailers for the components needed for the tripod:

🧱 10ft 1.5" ABS Pipe

A long ABS Pipe which will be cut into 3, 3ft long sections.

🔩 3x 2” ¼-20 Machine Screws

Machine screws to attach your ABS pipe legs to the 3D printed tripod gusset.

🔩 6x 0.5” ¼-20 Machine Screws

Machine screws to attach your tieoffs to your ABS pipes.

🔩 0.375” ¼-20 Machine Screw

Machine screw to tighten your pipe ring to the pipe.

🔩 3x ¼-20 Nuts

Nuts to correspond to your machine screws for attaching your ABS pipes to the 3D printed tripod gusset.

Thin variants of the nuts used for attaching your ABS legs to the tripod gusset.

🖨️ 3D Prints for the Tripod

The Tripod requires various 3D prints. They are:

  • 3x 3D-Printed TPU Feet
  • 3x 3D-Printed TPU Pipe Tieoffs
  • A 3D-Printed TPU Tripod Gusset
  • A 3D-Printed TPU Center Ring
