To help teams, referees, and event organizers mount their Founders Edition Shot Clocks, we’ve identified two practical stand-building paths. Both are fully compatible with the unit’s built-in ¾" NPT flange, and both can be sourced using common materials.

Choose based on your needs, time, and available tools.

✅ Recommended Option – Minimal Work, Modern Design​

If you’re looking for a fast and clean solution with minimal hardware work, this is the path for you.

  • 🛒 Buy the parts from Amazon
  • 🖨️ 3D print a small adapter using TPU filament
  • 🔩 Assemble and you're done!

This option is great for teams without workshop access or technical skills — just plug and play. It’s lightweight, portable, and tournament-ready.

🛠 Reliable Option – Traditional DIY Build​

If you want something more rugged and tested to withstand heavy hits, this reliable stand option may be better suited to your needs.

  • 🧱 Uses 4x4 wood sections, ABS pipe, and several 3D printed componenets
  • 🔧 Requires cutting, drilling, and pouring some concrete.
  • ⚙️ More stable, but much less portable and longer construction time.

This path is for leagues with workshop access and technical skills, or for teams that can leave the stand setup for prolonged periods of time.

While this option requires more work, it also provides a lot more stability and protection against falling over. Since the stands make these units over 7ft tall, falls are a serious concern.

📏 Compatibility Reminder​

Both options use the built-in ¾" NPT threaded flange at the base of each Founders Edition unit. This is a standard in both:

  • AV mounting equipment
  • Hardware store plumbing supplies

You are welcome to attempt to design/build custom stand designs for mounting your shot clock modules. While DSS does not reccomend this route, please let us know what you come up with if you decide you would like to.​
